global and local issues: Grade 6 assembly on Water.

It was the grade 6 class' turn to do assembly yesterday. Their theme was all about the importance of water and water conservation. Two of Mr. Macks class wrote this song that the whole class sang. It was to the tune of 'Looked' by Adam Levine and Lost City.

If it was all gone away
and we lost it today
tell me honestly
what would we drink everyday.

There would be a tiny limit
Maybe a cup a day
Tell me honestly
What would we wash our clothes with.

Right this down now take a shower instead of a bath
It could really help with this awful drought
Yeah yeah.

Global and ocal issues:- Edens water week - operation Hydrate

This week we have embarked on water awareness week. inspired by the severe drought conditions in our country. Oren Cohen in the high school initiated the drive and has challenged everyone to bring water to be sent to the drought stricken areas of our country.

On Monday each child wrote a pledge about how they will save water this week. These are written on a rain drop and are on display for us all to read.

Classes are are doing a number of water related activities during the week.

The grade 2's with their pledges.

On Friday we will be having a blue Valentine dress up - to show how much we love our earth.
