Grade 8 Water projects

As part of the water week awareness campaign the Grade 8 Natural Science group undertook a project on water use.  They measured each activity that they did to calculate the amount of water each used.  They counted up all the amounts used per day and per week.  They read their water meters each day for one week.

Once they had all the statistics they presented these on a chart and drew a variety of graphs, bar graphs to show individual activity use, line graphs to show the trend in their water meter readings over time and pie graphs to show their family's water usage on various activities.

once that was done the calculated their "water droplet" a little like a green footprint, only based on water use.

Here Kiara Naidoo; Tamike Maharajh and Kaylene Talapennen show off their projects.

Grade two outing to Tala

The grade two children are reading the book "The Aardvark who wasn't sure" by Gill Tomlinson. It is a wonderful book that lends itself to developing the love and appreciation of south African wild life. each week we learn about a different animal.

Last week we went on an outing to Tala Game reserve. There we went on a game drive where we learnt lots of interesting facts from our guide Jaycee. We also had a presentation about snakes and birds by two experts in their field. The children really had a wonderful time and learnt so much.
