Albert Falls Dam is currently at 22 percent. If Durban continues to use water at its present rate, we will be in the same situation as Cape Town within a year.Eden is committing to try and reduce water consumption by 40 percent.Students are asked to bring bottles of water to school which they may refill. No drinking from taps is allowed.Save water as if your life depends on it because...actually it does. The water collection for Cape Town certainly brought home the reality of how urgent water issues are.
Thanks to all who donated so generously to this cause.

🌱Plastic Nurdle Challenge
These Nurdles are used in the production of plastic items. During the Durban Storms last year a container of these tiny Nurdles spilt into the sea off our coastline. There are thousands still littering our beaches. This is really endangering sea creatures .This packet was collected in 10 minutes on Ushaka beach this week.Go down to the beach to the high water mark (preferably with a sieve) and pick up as many as you can.Bring them to Mrs VE to upcycle into artworks and receive ESP points. No of points is dependent on the amount you collect. The area between Ushaka and the Harbour mouth is the worst affected.

🌱 ECO CHALLENGE 1
Durban has one of the finest stretches of beach in the world. Our promenade is wonderful. A huge upgrade is about to take place to the beachfront. This will be wonderful for Tourism.
However our beaches are filthy.People are drinkng alcohol on the promenade, leaving huge amount of litter everywhere and not treating the beach with respect. This is enough to put tourists off visiting.
Write a letter to the Mayoress of Durban to complain about the litter on our beaches.Explain why you don't like it and make some suggestions eg. Spot fines
Hand in to Mrs van Elden before the end of Jan.10 ESP
