Earth Day

A big thank you to Raha and Phumla for the presentation they delivered on Earth Day!  You reminded us all of the importance of caring for our planet and shared simple but powerful ways we can make a difference every day. From reducing waste to protecting nature, your message inspired us to think more carefully about our actions. Well done on an informative and meaningful presentation, we are proud of you for helping to spread such an important message!

Our Grade R learners had so much fun celebrating Earth Day with a special craft activity all about our beautiful planet! They created colourful Earth-themed artworks. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing awareness of the importance of looking after our planet from such a young age. Well done, Grade R!

The Grade 1s also celebrated Earth Day with a lovely craft activity. What a special way to learn about our planet and how we can look after it!

Planting Week Update

A big congratulations to two of our eco Edenites who successfully completed this term’s Planting Week Challenge by planting their very own Spekboom! Your effort and care for the environment are truly inspiring, and every plant makes a difference in helping our planet thrive.

Komal can even be seen proudly standing beside a Spekboom from the school, planted about seven years ago. It is a wonderful reminder of how these incredible plants grow and flourish over time. It’s amazing to see just how much of an impact a single planting can have.

Well done on helping create a greener future Iyla and Komal!

We look forward to seeing everyone else's completed planting week challenges as well.

Diving Deep: Our Ocean Conservation Journey

This year, our prep school is setting sail on an exciting adventure that takes us beneath the waves and into the heart of one of the most important ecosystems on Earth: the ocean.

Our 2026 eco theme is the Ocean, and together, we’ll be exploring how we can protect and care for our blue planet.

To make this journey even more exciting, each class will become a submarine crew, diving deeper into the ocean as they complete eco-friendly challenges throughout the year. These challenges might include:

  • Reducing plastic use
  • Participating in clean-up efforts
  • Saving water and energy
  • Learning and sharing facts about marine life

Every positive action earns your class points, helping your submarine descend further into the ocean depths.

Our progress will be tracked on a special Ocean Depth Board, displayed for everyone to see. The more points your class earns, the deeper your submarine dives—from the sunlit surface waters all the way down to the mysterious deep sea!

Will your class reach the twilight zone? Or even the midnight zone? There’s only one way to find out…

Oceans cover more than 70% of our planet and play a huge role in keeping Earth healthy. They provide oxygen, regulate the climate, and are home to incredible biodiversity. Unfortunately, they are under threat from pollution, overfishing, and climate change.

Every challenge completed is a step toward a healthier ocean and a deeper dive for your class submarine!
