Bottle cap, e-waste and bread tag collection

Our amazing learners have been hard at work collecting e-waste, bottle caps and bread tags as part of our ongoing commitment to caring for our planet! These collections may seem small, but they can have a meaningful environmental impact. By collecting e-waste, we help prevent electronic materials from ending up in landfills, where they can contribute to pollution. Collecting bottle caps and bread tags also keeps useful materials out of the waste stream and supports recycling and reuse initiatives. Most importantly, our learners are developing an understanding that everyday choices can help protect our environment. They are learning to reduce waste, recycle responsibly and care for our beautiful Earth. Every item collected. Every lesson learned. Every small action counts!

Jars of Hope Collection

Our Eco Champions have once again shown just how much a small act of kindness can mean! We are so proud of everyone who took part in our Jars of Hope Collection. This wonderful initiative is about more than simply collecting ingredients, it is about teaching our children the importance of compassion, generosity and looking out for others in our community. Every jar represents a little bit of love, kindness and hope, and together our learners are helping to make a meaningful difference. A huge thank you to all our families for supporting this special initiative!

Second Hand Book Collection

A huge thank you and congratulations to all our wonderful learners and families who supported our Second-Hand Book Collection! We were delighted to collect a wonderful selection of pre-loved books, which will be donated to the Dennis Hurley Centre to support their Street Lit Project, and to various libraries in need. By giving books a second life, our learners are helping to make reading more accessible. This initiative is a reminder that something we have finished enjoying can bring learning, imagination and joy to someone else. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us spread the love of reading while making a positive difference in our community!

Brown Money and Eco Brick Collection

A huge congratulations to all our learners who have generously donated Brown Money and made and donated their very own Eco Bricks! We are incredibly proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown. Eco Bricks are a wonderful way of giving plastic waste a second life by packing clean, non-recyclable plastic tightly into bottles, helping to keep this waste out of our environment and landfills. By making their own Eco Bricks, our learners are not only reducing waste but also learning the importance of reusing, recycling, and taking responsibility for our planet.

Rhino Makeover

Our rhino has been given an upgrade and is ready for collection by Project Rhino where he will be off to his new home in a shopping mall.

Mandela Day

This Mandela Day, we were incredibly proud to see some of our learners and their families embrace the spirit of giving by taking part in the 67 Minutes Challenge during the school holidays. Our learners made a positive difference in their communities by helping others, caring for the environment, donating items, and spreading joy wherever they could. These thoughtful actions remind us that no one is too young to make an impact and that every act of kindness, no matter how small, helps build a more caring and compassionate world. Well done for living out the values of kindness, generosity, and community spirit!

Brown Money and Eco Brick Collection Reminder

Just a reminder that this is your last chance to complete your collection of brown money and eco bricks.

Jars Of Hope

As part of our Nelson Mandela 67 Minutes Challenge, we are launching our next Eco Challenge: Jars of Hope. Learners are encouraged to fill a reusable jar with rice, lentils, stock powder, and soup powder, simple ingredients that, together, can provide a nourishing meal for a family of four. This challenge reminds us that even a small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. By reusing jars and donating these essential food items, our school community will be honouring a legacy of service while bringing hope and support to families in need. Every jar counts, and together we can make our 67 minutes truly matter.

Endangered Animals Civvies Day

Our recent Civvies Day was a wonderful success, with learners arriving at school dressed as a variety of endangered animals from around the world. From majestic cheetahs and playful African penguins to powerful rhinos and sea turtles, the colourful costumes helped raise awareness about species that are facing threats such as habitat loss, pollution, and poaching. This day reminded us of the important role we all play in conserving our planet’s precious biodiversity for future generations.
