Gobal and Local issues : Hilton Arts Festival

 

We are very excited as two of our shows will be staged at the Hilton Arts Festival on the weekend of the 19 September. This was what appeared in the brochure! Please pop in and see it ....its free and well worth the effort. Good luck to all involved

 

Global and local Issues ; Tour to Edinburgh

The cast of'" Who Nose?" returned from their Edinburgh tour. They had three brilliant performances of their show that was raising Rhino Conservation awareness and raising funds for Acting for Rhinos. These students did their school proud. Their behaviour was impeccable and they enthusiastically explored Edinburgh and soaked up the Festival experiences. Congratulations to them all.

Community and Heritage : Grade R Slipper day

The Grade R's came to school last week dressed up in their pyjamas and slippers ....... the reason being they were bringing soap, toothpaste and other essential toiletries for less privileged people. They certainly reminded us of how simple it is to think of others.

Healthy eating and lifestyles

Mrs Barnard runs a very successful sailing team. She encourages many of our youngsters to participate and we have our very own Eden Star:  Taalia Naidoo with Yashir Seetal learning from her. Keep it up Edenites! 

Eden's Green Fest

On Sunday we had our annual Green Fest. The Grade 2's had a pancake stall and as I was so busy I hardly have any photos to share but these few show the fun we all had! I will continue to update as I get photos!

This won the best stall at the Green Fest. Orders still taken for those wishing to buy. 

There will be a sale on Friday at break to sell all left overs e.g second hand books etc

Nature and Biodiversity : Grade 12 River Study

The Grade 12's did a case study on a river to see people's impact on it. This is a project done by Damian Sweet.

Resources : Grade 5

The grade 5 children have had an exciting, eventful week, making organic fire lighters to sell at our Green Fest.

With much preparation needed, drying out SO many tea bags, collecting newspaper, toilet rolls, wood chips, pine needles, lint and jars, the long wait to start making the fire lighters was finally over.

Lots of hard work and concentration was involved, especially when we had to roll the newspaper so the coffee, pine needles and tea didn't fall out.

It was very encouraging to see the children working so well together and helping others who were battling.

We are all very proud of our fire lighters and hope they will be a 'hot hit' at the Green Fest!
