Community and Heritage - Eden Sailing club

The sailing club remains small but active.  We have about 7 or 8 youngsters who regularly sail either dinghy’s or keel boats or both.  Our year to date  has been most successful starting with four participants in the Interschools the biggest fleet in the competition, where we won the TERA division and Taalia Naidoo single handedly (she was our only girl) won the best girl’s team.  We went on to take a second place in the keel boat interschools losing by 1 second, in the last second race and easily winning the third in a three race series.

Individual sailors have also done well over the year, with Jo Muhanzi sailing on Zap winning the Royal Natal Rosebowl trophy, Yashir Naidoo winning the Sail Africa most improved sailor trophy, Taalia Naidoo winning the most improved youth sailor trophy, and Braedon Royal gaining a bronze medal in the South African Sailing j22 Youth Nationals.
